3+ New Custom Levels!
December 1, 2011Sorry for the late notice! Three new custom levels have been added on the Beret forums, one by Isocitration (remember him? You’d better…) and two by AkiTG.
Isocitration’s Department of Cleanliness, Spin Cycle Division
AkiTG’s Department of Diversity, Outer Shrine Division
AkiTG’s Department of Mystery, Annihilation Division
Also, since I have superpowers I predict that another level may be available very soon… (how does he do that!?)

November 17, 2011This will probably be the last release of Beret unless some major bug is discovered, so that I can spend my free time on my next project. Enjoy your bugfixes!
Here’s a complete change list:

November 1, 2011Iso’s Let’s Play of Beret has come to an end. (Err.. a while ago – this post’s a little late.) Quite impressively, he was able to get all 120 medallions without any hints (barring one or two in the very early levels about game mechanics) and provide interesting and amusing commentary throughout the whole game. The LP is by no means a train wreck despite Iso’s early claims – it turns out he’s pretty good at talking and solving puzzles at the same time! (And he’s even quite amusing while despairing!)
Thanks, Iso. This was quite a joy to watch.
The full LP is available on Iso’s channel.

October 28, 2011Indie Games for Good is a group of gamers that will be doing a live-streamed marathon of indie games starting November 4th and continuing as long as people keep donating to Child’s Play. You can view a list of the games that are included in their lineup so far on their donation page. (The mildly astute may notice that Beret is included in that list!) So, if you’re feeling generous, please consider making a donation to make a sick kid somewhere in the world happy and help Indie Games for Good provide more exposure for some of these indie games in their list.
And of course, watch the stream if you have the time! It sounds like fun!
Categories: Beret, Games, Miscellaneous || Comment!New Texture Pack?
October 20, 2011I’m sure you’ve all noticed that Beret’s graphics are a little lacking… so it occurred to me recently, why not ask if anyone more artistically inclined than myself would be interested in putting together a texture pack for Beret that would ideally be made official? And indeed, that’s exactly what I’m doing with this post!
So, if you are (or if someone you know is) a good artist and would be interested in working on a texture pack for Beret and get your name in the credits and have my eternal gratitude, please let me know! You can email me at kiwisauce@kiwisauce.com, and if you want to include a sample of your work, all the better.

October 20, 2011It’s been a while! Enough of a while that there is now a pack of three custom levels from a fellow called Leylite available for download on the Beret forums. The pack, entitled ‘Deception LLC’, uses a subset of the elements of the game in very creative ways and has some pretty devious puzzles – if you’ve beaten the main game, there’s no excuse not to play through it!
You can get Deception LLC here.

August 3, 2011Okay, people are actually using the forum, so I consider the experiment a success! I’ve just added a Player Levels board as well, so if you create a level and feel like sharing, go ahead and upload it somewhere and put a link there. Also feel free to use the board to ask for help with the editor itself.
Oh, and the forum is here.

July 31, 2011I’ve heard a lot of requests for help with puzzles and people saying it would be nice to have a walkthrough or forum, so I’ve just opened up a forum at indiedb.com. If you’re stuck on a puzzle or want to report a bug, feel free to post there.
